Asus X99 Sabertooth Motherboard - overheating without running little fan?

I know it is recommended to run the little fan on the Asus X99 Sabertooth Motherboard. I'm wondering if anyone runs this motherboard without the little fan, and as a result experienced any problems with overheating.

I gather your talking about the system fan. I'd advise you to run it else you'll most likely end up with problems - especially if you stress the motherboard eg load and/or overclock the CPU.

I think he means the tiny noisy fan that sits on the back to exhaust air from the armour.

I can imagine heat building up under there especially if overclocked. Even running it at low RPM would at least get some air flowing. If that isn't enough there is always the option o remove the armour entirely. Noise vs Aesthetics.

Those X99 chips run pretty hot from what I understand. I wouldn't disconnect anything in the armor, but you could use the Asus Software to cut down fan speed and see how it responds.

I'm not running that little fan as it seemed an unwarranted gimmick and not having any problems.
