I just bought the above router and I've got it all configured for the internet and my network enabled printer. Right now I have one PC wired and one PC on wireless. Now I want to connect a USB external drive to the router USB port and be able to share its contents with users on the network.

The help doc tells me to go to the router setup page, choose User List and add the users to the list. The User List asks for a name and a password. What name does another computer have? What is its password?

I tried to use the WEP username and passcode but that didn't work. The Asus forums for their wireless products are almost dead so I thought I'd ask here while I wait for a possible answer from ASUS tech support.

Can anyone help me with what username/password I should use?
 
Use the Windows user names and passwords of the logged in users that are allowed to access the shared files. Or just one user name and password if you want the users to manually enter that user name and password when they access the shared files.
 
Fardringle, I tried using a name and password, neither of my computers is set up with passwords but the ASUS software won't accept a blank field. According to the ASUS doc, after I set it up I should see the router in the workgroup computers screen of my network places, but it doesn't appear there. So I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I have a message into ASUS tech support, hopefully they'll answer.
