Asus WIFI 802.11b ADAPTER W/ EXTERNAL ANTENA

Hi, I currently have an Asus P4P800 and wondering if this is a good solution to an cheap and effective way of setting up an wirelesss network at home. If anyone had any experience with this could you tell me how well this performs?

Unless your running a 386 your PC horsepower will have little to zero significance in relation to your wireless LAN performance. The reason your question wasn't answered initially is because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. What are you trying to do?

I have the adapter installed in my P4P800 deluxe based PC and have decent performance coming out of it. It's a simple, cost effective solution to setting up wireless capability on a desktop ($20 at Newegg). The only thing you may want to consider is that it supports only a 11 Mbps transfer rate, which is more than enough for an Internet connection.

Consider buying another solution which supports 802.11g if you are looking at good transfer rates in a LAN environment.

i have an d-link 714p+ and im wondering if this can recieve signal from it.

It sure can, as long as your DLink device supports the 802.11 b/g standards. It is not necessary to have the same brand of router and adapter, at least not for 802.11 b/g.

I have my ASUS wifi connected to a Buffalo router.

Yes, though the client will not associate at the "+" speeds. It will associate using CCK at 11 Mpbs, assuming your in range to do so.
