I have an ASUS VW246H that's had an issue for a year or so where if the power goes out, I have to "trick" the monitor back on.
What happens is, loss of power then I attempt to turn the monitor back on with no response. No LED color or anything. Then, I unplug the power cord and wait for the SPLIT SECOND the amber LED flashes for the power and I plug it back in. Immediately the monitor comes on and all is well unless the power goes out again.
Recently, there's a new symptom. After about 1-2 hours of continuous use, the monitor makes an almost "puff" or very, very slight "pop" sound and the monitor turns off. At this point, I have to unplug the power and wait a good solid 5 minutes before plugging it back in. The minute I do, though, it comes right back on for another 1-2 hours.
Suggestions? I was ok "tricking" the monitor as it didn't truly have any downtime. Now, though, I'm without a monitor until it seemingly cools down.
Thanks!
