I was on the verge of opting for Gigabytes but reading this http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/...4329-12-p35c-ds3r-dead and the link to tweaktown's forum made me pause: apparently DS3R has big design troubles or QC is not as good as I hoped with GB, too many reports of dead DS3Rs for comfort.
Good to know that those with functioning DS3R are very happy and of course you can always have a defective product in any batch of any product but there seems to be too many reports of dead DS3Rs for comfort and out-of-the-box reliabilty is paramount for me, I have not much time to waste 🙁

And now I'm back at the starting block: which one? Even Asus seems to have spotty QC not in line with the past reputation...

From what I can tell even though the DS3R is spotty the current Gigabyte P35 is one of the most stable and reliable boards to choose from right now, outside of the abit P35-Pro
