Asus Vento 3600

I got a Vento 3600 from a friend of mine and put inside the rig in my sig. Now the looks are not important, I kinda feel it looks like shit anyway(red also) but I'm really concerned with the temps inside. It comes with a single 120mm fan at the back a much smaller one under the hard drive. I have three additional small fans cooling both the GPUs( aside from the manufacturer ones) and the NB and that's abt it. I do feel that it's a microwave oven in there since there aren't that many options for the air to go both in and out from it. I didn't see it around on the forum so I guess there must be an issue with it since the price is nearly the same as for 3dAurora and several other brands available over here.

Right now I'm running with one side open and I switch it off during the night.

Any suggestions?

I've googled it and I see what you mean. It's a fugly case.

Your options for additional fans are in the side panel or in the top of the case (avoiding the up and over hinged front panel). I suppose for cooling purposes, a fan in the top is best, since hot air rises.

Either way, it will be quite a bit of cutting and it will probably be difficult to make it look good.

I just got one Gigabyte 570. It looks better and I already changed the stuff.

I'm quite dissapointed with Asus with this. They make nearly the best stuff in all else but they have to be so lame with the cases.

May the Vento rest in pieces, my cat seems to find it comfortable.

The inner chassis of the Vento was the same as the Evercase 42x2 series which is pretty decent (the latest rev with 120s f/r). Asus had the Vento made up as an eye-catcher for a trade show and then decided to sell it w/o eliminating the problems that almost always exist in specials. Wish you'd asked before buying it... Cutting a 120mm fan mount in the front or bottom front is about all you can do while keeping the plastic fuselage in one piece. I almost had myself convinced into buying one of those, thought better of it and tried an Evercase 42x2 instead - turned out better all around.

.bh.

I got it for free almost. Basically my friend made the rig and since he's making quite a few he's getting special rates for nearly everything. I liked the config and I bought it from him at his cost price. I've been playing since then with the OC and decided the case does not hold a candle to the rest of the system especially under heavy load. Before this I was always getting ready made comps and never cared much abt OC. I guess there's a time for everything😀
