So I'm about to upgrade my computer and replace my old 19" Hyundai LCD monitor. I'm thinking of getting myself a monitor for Christmas. Dell has the U2412M on sale today for $299 ($328 after tax).
But my question is whether its going to be worth nearly double the price to move up from the Asus TN panel to the Dell IPS 6bit panel? The Asus is only $170 now so its almost double the price for the Dell but I will probably be using the monitor for the next 5-10 years so I want to make sure I'm smart about the purchase.
My uses will be probably 2/3 general tasks/internet and 1/3 gaming.
