I BOUGHT AN ASUS V9999GT 6800GT 256, IT HAS 2 MOLEX POWER CONNECTORS ON IT AND I WAS WONDERING IF I HAVE TO USE BOTH OF THEM. THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT

CAME WITH IT ARE A LANGUAGE OUTSIDE OF ENGLISH. AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS A WAIST OF TIME LIKE ANY OTHER COMPANY. I AM CURRENTLY USING JUST ONE AND

CARD SEEMS TO BE WORKIN AT FULL POTENTIAL BUT STILL WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I SHOULD USE THE OTHER ONE BEFORE SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS.

I wouldn't risk anything, they put two of them on there for a reason.

I'D LIKE TO KNOW AS WELL BECAUSE CAPS ARE REALLY HARD TO READ AND YOU ONLY TOLD HIM THAT, IT'S NOT LIKE YOUR POST WAS IN ALL CAPS OR SOMETHING.

To answer your question, plug them both in.

Actually, contrary to what you might think, communications researchers did studies and ppl actually read all CAPS more carefully. It just seems harder to read.

Back to topic you should plug both, and fron diferent rails. Those rails should only be dedicated to the graphic card. That way you ensure total stability. Enjoy the card, is a great one ;)

Seriously, you need to lay off the flaming. It won't go over for you very well. Your just starting out on these forums, and your rep WILL be destroyed. No one did ANYTHING offensive, and that was totally uncalled for.

OT - Yes, you should plug both power connectors in. You could get some instability down the road, but then again, you may not. I personally wouldn't take the risk. As the old saying goes: Its better to be safe than sorry.

wth? You're 8 posts in on anandtech and you think you're some sort of big shot to go around acting like that? I can only imagine how you act in real life...

You... "I NEED HELP BECAUSE MY TEA IS COLD AND NO LONGER HOT!? DO I NEED HOT OR COLD TEA?"

People... "It all depends on what you like better, hot or cold tea. A majority of English people prefer their tea cold though..."

You... "F U GUYS MAN, YOU GUYS SHOULD 'KNOCKIN' YOUR TEETH OUT AND PUNCHING NOTHING"

Man... only if the moderators or admins were here to see what a jerk you were...

so you are saying plug both in straight from the psu with no y connector?, i called asus

tech and they guy said the other plug was foe auxilliary but i have a hard time believing

techs sometimes, i dont see why they would put 2 on there for no reason. my psu

connectors are all used up from all the fans i have running but im sure i can find

someting i can run a y connector to that is less important like a cd drive or something

Asus believes that 2 power connector will make the card more stable and might get you higher overclocks but I think that only applies if you use a real good quality power supply in the first place. I never heard of Demon ps but I hope its a good one.
