Hi,

I'm a bit confused about the Asus v9560VS Video Suite video card here.

From my understanding, this video card will allow you to watch TV on your PC (Using Asus Digital VCR).. If that's the case, how come the picture of the video card doesn't have a coax connector..? I can only see 2 DVI's and 1 S-Video connector (it comes with 2 x DVI-VGA connectors for standard CRT's).. Does it come with some sort of coax->S-Video cable that allows me to directly connect a coax cable to my video card so that I can watch TV on my PC..? Does it expect me to be hooking up from an s-video out connector on my TV or cable company box to the s-video in..? Can I get a coax->S-Video cable, if it doesn't come with one, to go directly from a coax cable into my video card (that's basically what I want to do).. Would I have to purchase their TV Tuner card as well (god forbid)..

Any information on the above (try to be specific) would be appreciated.. Thanks.

You probably get an Extension Peripheral that hooks into the CRT of the card and add's the
coax connector from there .. on my Geforce FX 5900 card i got one of those Add on Things that goes into the CRT on the card and has TV in TV out and S-Video plugs on it but no coax connector because the card only does Vivo not TV

Theres your answer dude :)

Ok i just read that website for the card and NO .. the card doesn?t receive TV ... it only lets you display your on screen picture from your computer on your TV and vis versa .. if you want a Videocard with a TV tuner on it that lets u watch TV on your computer then you'v gotta find one with a Tuner add on .. those things are the matalic blocks that your see on TV- Cards... and there the ones that come with the Coax connecter for plugging an Arial onto them

TV tuner cards are cheap and if you find a Videocard with one on it Try comparing the price of buying a Videocard Separately and a TV tuner card Separately

You will find the price ends up being the same buying the combination Card/TV Tuner

If that's the case, then what does this mean? This video card comes with this product.. You are confusing me more than anything else, lol.. You didn't really answer my question because you "ignored" this vital piece of information..

Come on, someome, anyone, please try to give me some REAL information on what the Asus site mentions and what I'm trying to do.. I know someone out there that knows his/her stuff can give me a very good response besides telling me to get a TV tuner card when all fingers point to this card being able to do just that! I just need someone to confirm how the connections (via what adapter/connector) CAN be made between the card and the "cable signal".. Read my original email to get the jist of what I want to do..

Thanks..

It looks like TV Viewing Software that you get with the videocard ...... on a CD
But that still means you still gotta get a TV card they probably give you that software so you can capture TV off the TV-in thats on your Videocard ....... that all.

I finally figured it out myself.. The card has the ability to take in s-video signals, be it from an s-video out on a TV or the cable box, but you can't "control" what you are watching, it'll simply display what is coming through the s-video in, unlike a TV tuner which gives you the ability to change channels, etc.. and allows you to go directly from a coax signal/cable.. Basically put, a TV tuner is required in this case for my friend -- the video card itself just won't cut it.. Later..
