According to ASUS's specs, this card's memory should be at 550MHz stock. But both RivaTuner and Coolbits show it at 513 MHz. When I try to OC the memory, it starts getting artifacts around 540-550 MHz. The core was at its correct stock speed - 250MHz (so far I have the core up to 310).

How come the memory is reporting so slow? Did I get a bad card? Thanks for any help.

My dad has the same card, and I went and checked his out, and CoolBits sees his as 513 MHz too. Maybe ASUS has a typo on thier specs page?

I think that this might be mistake on the Specification page that you have provided the link to. If you click on "Feature", over in the left hand column of the page, and look at the specifications that are given at the bottom of this new page, you'll see that they match what you actually seem to have.

The 550mhz memory speed is available on the older non-8x AGP Ti4200s from Asus, the V8420S and the V8420 Deluxe. These both use a larger 8-layer card (same as on the Ti4400s and Ti4600s) and 3.3 ns memory (instead of the 3.6 ns memory used on the V9280 TD).

ah ic. thanks for the info. I'm glad i only spent 40 bucks + my old gf2 mx on this card.. i'd be very disapointed knowing the older ones were better, since 8x doesn't matter, if I woulda paid full price. I usually do better research on products, but it was a deal i couldn't pass up :D
