hi everyone,
i am thinking of getting this video card. can someone tell me if there is anything bad or good about this card? and also can someone possibly provide me a link to how this GF4MX440-8X card compares to other GF4MX440-8X cards? that's the main thing i want to find out.. just if it's on par with other GF4MX440-8Xes. Thanks a lot for all the help.

I just bought this card to use in a customer's machine. It is a nice card for what he is going to be doing with it.

If you are planning to play games, go buy a Radeon 9200 128MB from Best Buy for $129. It is DX9 compliant and has more memory. The GF4 MX440 is only DX7 and has 64MB of ram.

I could only score a 7600 in 3DMark 2k1 w/ a P4 3.06 and 1 GB of PC2700. Not at all impressive, but the card works fine. If you are out for video editting, this card is fine. If you are looking for serious gameplay too, get a Ti4600 Dual DVI or else just a cheap Radeon 9200 or 9500/9700 if you have the cash too.

The 9200 is a rebadged 9000 with AGP8X. It's only DX8 but it's probably a better bet than an MX440.
It's well worth spending slightly more and getting a Ti4200 - The 64Mb version is quite cheap and it's still the best bang for your buck around.

The performance of different cards of the spec is pretty much identical. You pay for the cooling solution and any extras such as TV-Out rather than performance.
