Hello, everyone. I have had the Asus V7700 Deluxe now for about a month now. First off, the Asus 5.33a drivers suck butt. When the screensaver goes on, I get this white-box affect around the image. That a miniscule problem. However, I can't install the Smart Doctor software because it says that it can't detect that this is the deluxe model. Also, the Asus Live and Asus Digital VCR doesn't work either. They give me errors when I boot the programs....

Asus Digital VCR: "Video IC cannot be detected, please make sure your display card is deluxe version.

Asus Live: "Video decoder detecting occurs error! The reason could be: 1.Your display card doesn't have a Video decoder 2.Your monitor or monitor driver is not proper design for I2C Bus control."

Asus SmartDoctor: "This program isn't consistent with current VGA Card! Program Aborts."

It was working for the first day or so, then I got these errors. However, the VR Glasses still work without problems. I have posted this message on many boards, but have never gotten a reply. ANY help is GREATLY appreciated.

Oh yeah. One more thing. I was able to install the software when I first got the software. Since the last format, I can't install.

Hopes this makes it a little bit clearer.

Dude, I just built my AMD TB system with that card and 256MB Mushkin Rev. 2 with MSI K7TPro2-A MB and never have seen or experienced what you are talking about. I'm running 98SE. I had an easy time installing drivers and software, and it plugged and played on the video inputs. I guess you might have a dead VIVO unit on it. Perhaps, I dunno. But all I can say is that I had no trouble whatsoever, and what you describe sounds more like a faulty unit than buggy software.

hope this helps.

Hmm.. My friend said to try reseating the video card. Would that work or am I just wasting my time? It was working for around 2-3 weeks, everything was humming like a charm(VIVO included). After that time, the SmartDoctor software worked, but the VIVO didn't. What would I do with this card if it is indeed a bad unit? Return it to Asus or return it to my Vendor, which happens to be www.neutronet.com. What would be the least hassle to do? Thanks for your help so far. It is greatly appreciated.

I doubt you can return it to where you bought it after a month...

why dont you boot into safe mode and see what all drivers are listed in device manager and make sure there are no duplicates
also make sure there are no MS kernal audio in sound vid game
if any reboot and see if that fixes it
also you got an awfull amount of crap in there try disconnecting the zip and all but 1 cd from both the power supply and ide or scsi bus(if it then works you dont have enough power)
I didnt have this problem but weird but found out it was from not enough power(solved it by splicing an old transformer to power some of the fans)

Yahooooo! Thanks for the info! I unplugged one of my CD drives, now the card functions properly. No more problems. Thanks guys. A Sparkly 400W power supply is on its merry way to my house as we speak. THANK YOU!
