I've tried playing NFS III, NFS High Stakes, and World Cup '98 since getting the above card from a friend. The games work; however, they aren't recognizing the Geforce correctly. Specifically, on NFS III and High Stakes, when I choose the 3D Device setup, it tells me I'm trying to use an unsupported 3D card. When I play the games, they either will only play in software mode (World Cup '98), or they don't play correctly in D3D (NFS).

I've got the latest NVIDIA BIOS and drivers installed. Is this a known problem? Any fixes?

I think those games are written specifically for Vodoo cards. You won't see Geforce on the list. But I play the games and they are fine, with good frame rates. Just make sure you choose the driver you most comfortable with, and I think that should be fine.

PS. You should be able to choose D3D Device 1 when you set up the video card in NFS right?

I can choose Direct 3D device, but then it gives me an error saying the game doesn't support this Direct 3D device. Then when I try playing the game anyways, it only supports up to 800x600 and the graphics don't look anywhere near as good as they did on my Voodoo 2, like the higher detail settings aren't functioning.

hmm, you'd better check your driver and the driver settings. I am using GeForce with det driver 5.3x, and I can chooce D3D device 1, and in NFS I can go to 1600x1200@32 with no problem at all. i am using SDR!
