Ok, don't laugh. My V6600 was working fine in my PII400 system and I don't feel like buying a new video card. Now I upgraded to an Athlon 1.2 GHz and it isn't working properly.
When playing 3D games, strange artifacts appear on screen, some surfaces flashes and system finally lock up. I upgraded to newest nVidia drivers, 21.83 and same thing happens. I removed all drivers and reistalled the old original ones and it works *better*.
I set my Graphics Performance (or whatever it's called) to minimum, reinstalled the newest drivers and it works well, but game looks awful. Any setting higher than minimum makes card to not work properly.
From all my tests, I'd say it's a driver issue, but I have DirectX 8.0 and newest *nVidia* drivers (ASUS website is pathetic). Does anyone have a clue about this problem?
System spec:
Athlon 1.2 GHz
ASUS A7M266 mobo
Kingston 256Mb RAM
ASUS V6600 video card (GeForce 256)
LG CD-RW
Seagate 40 Gb HD
