I got the game Might and Magic VI. But after I installed and run it I found that I always got an error message and in the button "details" of the message dialog following information is shown,

MM6 caused an invalid page fault in
module MM6.EXE at 0167:004e1c9c.

I know the MM6 won't support D3D and somebody said that it also won't support hardware acceleration. I also hear that M6 won't support VOODOO. I tried to disable hardware acceleration of my video card. I am not quite sure how could I disable D3D in my video card. I went to the web site of 3DO, but I did not get the information which can slove my problem. Is there someone can give me some suggestions?

By the way, I am using win98 SE and I downloaded the latest driver for my video card and downloaded the DirectorX 8.0A too.

Thanks.

I`ve played that game with my old Creative TNT card with no problems,I`m currently playing it with my Geforce2 MX using Win 98 OS1 and DX8,try removing the Asus drivers and use Nvidia drivers, it has worked with all official drivers including the latest 12.41 drivers, you don`t need to diasble hardware acceleration with a Nvidia card and MM6.

Btw you meantion Voodoo but your title thread says TNT card,so I presume you mean the TNT has the problem right?

Yes I am using Asus TNT. I mention VOODO because I only heard that it won't support COODO and I never heard of that it has the problem with Asus TNT. I will try the method you suggested and let you know the result. Thanks.

I try to install Nivdia driver but win98 won't allow me to do that. I uninstalled my old driver. When I try to change to the new driver win98 always detect the one of Asus which is already in my system. I delete that file then win98 told me that no right driver could be found. I am using the old Nivdia driver not the newest one. When I try the newest one I was told the the PCI ID of my device is not in the list of one file. I can not recall the name. Is there any other method I could try? Thanks

When you remove the drivers and card from device manager,on reboot go into safe mode and remove any TNT cards listed, then reboot and try to install the nvidia driver when it detects the video card, make sure you have it downloaded and unzipped on your harddrive somewhere it will not fit on a floppy.

You could try the 5.xx series drivers for your card if still no go from

Mem,

Thank you very much for the information. In the website you supplied I see it is marked WHQL certified driver and beta driver for those drivers. I know the meaning of beta driver, but what does WHQL mean? You mentioned 5.xx series. They are all beta version in that site. Do you think it is safe for me to use them? Thanks.

you should be fine with beta but try the official drivers first ,I`ve used 5.xx,6.13,6.50,12.41 with no problem with that game.
