$95 slap in a $100 HDD, a $50 21xx chip, and $30 for 2 gigs of ddr2 mem, and you got a damn good pc on the super cheap, IMO, and throw in a HD3870 for $120 and you got a smoking gamers rig.

Wish I had to get 2 of these myself to upgrade my boys from socket a and a 939.

Sata 150... And and only a 300w PSU... You sure this rig will be able to handle an HD3870 along with everything else? And it says this only supports up to a P4. Yes, I know it's LGA775, but is the same LGA775 that takes C2D? (sorry for stupid question).

I think if you don't mind rebates you can get a cheapo case (15-20 AR), PSU (30AR), m.b. might be higher like 70AR.
personally got a Antec Sonata w/ 500W EW PSU ($60AR), IP35-E ($70AR), so about $130.

The link to newegg site that Lanyap put up, above yours, in the spec page shows ity takes a C2D so I think its a typo on 3b's end.

As far as the 300watt ok, you may have to put something in a little stronger, 3B has some decent prices on some power supplies. Granted they may not all be "name" brand, but the one I got from them for $20~ over a year ago is still going strong and gets used a good 8-10 a day every day of the week.

Or as the guy above me mentioned, if you dont mind rebates, and waiting 3-12 months, my last rebates took 8 months for me to get on a lousy $40, and $40 over 8 months of wait to me doesnt seem like I got a good deal on the rebate, but in anycase, you can always get something better.

well if you are sure you will get rebates i say go for it... 300watt isnt good imo as only high watt psu's seem to be efficient.. ya you save a few bucks on the psu but your power bill goes up 10$ a month depending how many pc's you run and how hard you run them.

Antec makes a 80+ 380w power supply.
Most computers don't use over 300w of power. I have measured all of my computers, and the most power I have seen drawn is around around 200w AC power, when the 7 hard drives are spinning up. Sure if you use a video card that uses 2 slots, you will need to power it, and sure if you have a pentium D running at 4ghz, you will need lots of power. Dell sells a intel q6600 system with several hard drives and a 300w power supply. Go use a $20 ac power meter before saying you need a 1 kilowatt power supply. If you go to the trade shows, you can see a 1kw power supply powering a computer, and something crazy like 50 extra hard drives.

I have seen more 80+ power supplies that are above 400w than below it, but there are a few at 300w and below that are 80+. Check out silentpcreview.com for
high efficiency power supply reviews.

The MAIN problem with this deal is, if you actually read the user reviews at NewEgg, a good many of these seem to show up DOA.
