i'm changing a dead HDD on a asus ux302l. it has an onboard 32gb SSD. do i install the new O/S onto that? if so, does the new HDD become the d: drive, or do i somehow expand the SSD to incorporate it? thanks as always!!
I would guess that 32 GB SDD is a caching msata card. I have a Dell xps with a similar setup. You should disable the Intel smart storage option to turn it back into a drive (AHCI). Then I would simply install to the new SSD. If that msata is full size, buy a cheap drive and then ditch the 32 GB drive for a bigger one. 256 GB for like $80.
