Any brave souls want to drop 94 dollars to try out the card?
It claims to have stereo support.

Their reseller ratings aren't good (specifically the comments). I was thinking about getting it, but I don't know whether to wait for newegg so I don't have to pay the $9 for intrastate shipping plus tax from Essencompu. Why do only NY stores have this now? I'll probably hold out for a different vendor to carry it.

It's tempting, but I wish I knew ahead of time if software packages like ShowShifter and SnapStream will support this card. Compatibility is really all that matters to me :)

I wonder how fast the price will drop on this?

Newegg, googlegear, or mwave should have them in stock real soon I hope. The leadtek and MSI one cost only 60 dollars but have no stereo. So I believe a 80 dollars range would be reasonable for the card. The Asus Tv tuner driver is MS certified. Also it uses the same generation conexant chip set. The @nywhere and TV2000xp can use ShowShifter and SnapStream, so the asus should do too.

Newegg has it $80 + $5 shipping. Just ordered mine. I requested that they add this item just a couple of days ago, so that was good timing (not that my request may have had anything to do with it).

i believe the leadtek does have stereo. i've got one and in the interface, there's an icon for stereo. pretty much all the channels i get will have that icon pop up indicating stereo.

i bought an avermedia avertv stereo and it was crap. after uninstalling the software, i couldn't even get into my device manager. the leadtek is definitely better, interface and picture quality.

:)

JuicyFruit, have you actually listened to make sure stereo works? I am hearing both working and not-working stereo for the leadtek one. But for sure the Asus will do stereo because it uses Connexant CX23880 rather than Connexant CX23881.

p.s. right on $80! :D

Does this do hardware MPEG2 encoding or is that software based? A good PVR card to replace my Hauppauge POS would be nice. Stereo would be nice too, and a scheduling utility to record shows.
JeSpre - be sure to give us a review when you get your card.:)

Ok, stereo support: According to Conexant's specs for the CX23880 chip, it has "Stereo DACs." Hopefully it's supported in the rest of the card.

I'll definitely post a review when I get it. Should be here tuesday. The MSI and the leadtek (non-deluxe) are not stereo capable cards as far as I know. The leadtek deluxe, however, is.
