I just installed the TNT2 with the Detonator3 drivers and tried to run Quake2 version 3.20 and the game crashes. I am using default Opengl in the video mode. Is there a secret to running this game with a TNT2? None of my 3dfx boards have this problem - Voodoo3, voodoo2, Banshee. I just wanted to do some benchmarks to compare with the Voodoo3.

I'm surely no expert in video cards. I do know that the Det2 v5.22 reference driver murderized my OpenGL benchmarks. My olde TNT's D3D score went up almost 200%. However, OpenGL performance dropped 80%. This was great for UT. QII? Fahgetaboudit. Anand wrote a short piece re recent Det2? and or Det3 drivers and TNT/2/2U Vidcards. In short, they bite.

I suggest installing the driver from the Cdrom that came with your Vidcard. This may be difficult with the Det3's already in your box.
