Okay, here is the deal, put in new Asrock K7S8Xe mobo with my remaining system:

athlon xp 2500
kingston ddr333 256mg
Pny ddr333 512mg
Asus Ti4200 GeForce4 128mg X8

from the very begining...8 beeps from bios, which , under beep codes for that manufacturer of Bios= video card problem.

also showing vid mem- 0 bytes under Sandra 2k4/ and compatability issues (can't remember what they were).

so here is the deal? the card worked perfectly on my last ECS MB and my previous MSI MB. Do you think this could be a faulty MB i just purchased or could my cards mem have fried...also getting poooor benchmarking from 3d2k1 SE, only around 8500...that sucks..my cely 2.0 Ghz was producing numbers in the 7000's and my ECS board was up in the 11,000's, but couldn't overclock that only to 190 FSB, it was a 333 FSB as this Asrock board is a 400 FSB. I have done everything possible, bios update, changing vid drivers,et etc etc...
any help would be appreciated..thanks

i've got 2 asus 4200s, both have their individual problems... i won't go into detail. a friend whom had an asus 5900 ultra also had problems with it.

in a nutshell, for the next upgrade, just make sure u don't give asus any of your money.

Your BIOS is showing the card as faulty, it's not a windriver poblem - 9 times outta 10 it's a seating problem - check connectors are clean - use alcohol wipe, while the card is out look in the agp slot for muck. Is the fan rotating smoothly on the AGP card?

Is your BIOS tweaked now? reset it to defaults and test it again.

All I can say now is:

You really need to test this suspect Card in a known good system.

Has to be faulty vga slot. Got a new Gigabyte board, seems to be working fine now...no beeps or problems...Thanks for the help ..... :)

nope, packed up and ready to ship out tommorrow back to new egg...for a refund....Bahhh on the restocking fee, how can you restock a bad MB...

I deal with a pc store here in town, PC CLUB, and they have a 7 day return policy on MB's + no restocking fee and decent prices, should have just gone to them... I got a new gigabyte board now, vid card seems to be working fine.
