Asus temp software

I have an Asus P4S333 socket478 mobo. I have a p4 1.6A. for some reason when booted into windows the asus prob software always says my cpu is 104f/40c. it polls once a second and never moves. the bios hardware manager has it at like 89f when im in the bios. my question is does windows make it that much hotter? or is the software just wrong. i have an avc sunflower cooler, and whether im running at 1600mhz or 2448mhz the temp is always the same on the asus prob program. anyone have any experience with this program ? any comments /suggestions are helpful.
 
try updating to the latest asus probe 2.18.03
and also update your bios
