Personally, I'm waiting for the Transformer Prime, which is supposed to come out early next year. Highlights include a Tegra 3 (5x faster than the Tegra 2 they're using now), 3D capable, and can record/play 1080p.

Don't see any difference.

This is like retailers creating a special SKU to put items on clearance while still selling the same exact said item at the regular price with a different SKU elsewhere in the store.

True, except that it's not a new SKU. It's the proper SKU for the TF101-X1. There are other TF101s though, besides the -X1, which have different SKUs. Best Buy is just stupid. If they wanted to sell these things you'd think they'd slap "Transformer" all over that page. Maybe they don't want to lose money on the deal they're offering, but still be able to say they offered it?

microcenter doesnt have a pricematch policy, period! Its up to the individual stores and managers as to whether they want to pricematch at that particular time.

I remember getting an email a week or so ago from Gamestop that said "Transformer Prime" would be availible on Dec. 19th.

Tegra 3 is believe is a quad core...

Actually you are wrong. I just came from the Yonkers Microcenter and their policy is "They will match or beat any competitors price". The manager also said if you look at the website on certain items you will see a competitor price along with their price as in the current Newegg price on procs and memory..

He did say that it is up to the local manager to accept a double dip policy (as in match price and add coupons to the deal).

Id really like to get the Transformer Prime but just cant bring myself to pay $500 for a tablet, so I ordered one of these. There was free site to store or home shipping at the time I posted this.

I just bought a refurb 32gb for $339 + tax which came out about $372 at MC in Brentwood, metro St Louis during lunch break.
Opened it and fired it up. Everything looks like new, well it's looks like someone who returned it just opened the box and looked at it then decided it wasn't for him or her.
This very store also has several 32gb new for $399.99 + tax in stock but out of 16gb version.

Does anyone know if asus is discontinuing this tablet (with the prime comming out) ? Also best buy had somehtign like a $269 deal (i forget the exact amount) for black friday. I wonder if this clearing out stock that didn't sell on black friday. Last but least there is an a1 and b1 model (16gb and 32gb) what is a tx1 ?

with Transformer Prime being a certainty, yeah Asus is now dumping inventory. X1 is identical to A1, different part number is a "Best Buy Exclusive" to prevent price matching.

Prime has been confirmed to release this month. Web shops are saying they may start fulfilling orders on the 12th, and B&M stores confirm a 19th release date in stores.
