I and many others are having a heck of a time trying to get the ASUS Striker 2 Extreme board to be 100% stable. Stock and/or OC'd.

Could I ask that you post your successful settings and any Bios changes you may have made whether settings or Bios Versions.

Also Important is to inform of whether you are on AIR or WATER.

Thanks for taking the time to reading this I really appreciate it.

Okay this is my first post here but that comes from years of using this site for collecting tips and advice. I use the RSS feeds and read the review religiously. Thank you is in order for the moderators and review staff for the most through and thought provoking advice and reviews. With out a doubt AnandTech is one of the most valuable resources on the net for serious performance geeks. Again Thank You!

I was going to post this up in it's own thread as a small token to repay all that I have gained from paying attention to the details offered here, but this seems as good a place as any. If peeps use the search like I do they will find the answer without starting a thread. As far as helping is concerned unless I have the same specs I usually let the more educated handle it.

@ turbosnake I offer this to you as a starting point and did not come to me without much trial and error. Hosed a couple of windows installs in the process as well and you should be aware of the corruption Nvidia Sata/Raid controllers are prone to when overclocking before you proceed. So use these settings at your own risk and remember your hardware could react differently.

I do not know what level of expertise you have and I would not want to be redundant but If I had advice for you it would be to start out with only 2x2GB of RAM and find out from Patriot what timings to use for your desired specs. Mushkin was very helpful to me and Patriot maybe helpful as well.

OWCraftsman is giving you a good jump on this, but find other forum posts and reviews and read those too. This is a 790i board, and I notice the customer-reviews at NewEgg display the same sorts of ambivalence as with the older 680i Striker Extreme. Some people don't properly research what it takes to tweak the board.

Maximum PC Magazine gave this board a "Kickass 9" score sometime in the last six months or so. Look at other benchtest reviews, narrow to the ones which almost provide a primer in OC'ing it to put it through its paces. You can believe those reviews as pertains to the board's performance.
