ASUS Striker Extreme VS. ASUS P5N-32

Hey guys ... Ive built a system which i just want stability, performance, and rich features with probably a bit of potential to OC my E6600 to about 3.0 GHZ ...

I have the striker extreme and its good BUT, a friend is building a system and have my reserves about telling him he should spend the money for the striker extreme too ...

For a system that just needs stability, performance, and good OCing for the E6600 to 3.0GHz should he just get the P5N-32 with the nvidia 680i chipset or the striker extreme?

Is the striker extreme that much better then the P5N-32 and what are the major differences?

Advice/comments appreciated.

P5B32? That a new mobo? I've heard of the P5B Deluxe and P5B-E. Anyway on the top end for SLI I say P5N32-E SLI and for CF I suggest DFI's new RD600. Of course thats top end in performance including overclocking with dual cards.

Honestly, the only difference between the P5N-32 and the Striker is bells and whistles. Although I love my Striker and it's been running great, the P5N-32 is the much better buy.

heh. You can't save typing by missing that -E. Or it is just as bad as typing p5b-32 🙂

With issues apparantly resolved, i think i will be buying my system based on the p5n32-e sli in the next few days.

At the very least a successful evga bios update indicates there was no flaw with the actual 680i NB. Or, perhaps ..nothing that a bios tweak couldn't resolve.
I'm a lille concerned by the heat generation of the 680i chip but not enough to go to the rd600. 🙂

haha nah, i cant even blame the lack of a e on trying to save typing RedStar, thats just plane old ignorance on my part =) yay for forgetting the names of products!

The way I understand it is that The Striker Extreme has the extra hardware features, led, bigger heatpipe, reset buttons, etc., but both The Striker Extreme and the P5N32-E SLI share the same exact BIOS. Now I could be wrong about the BIOS thing but I could have swore I heard they use the same BIOS updates which in my mind means the same BIOS. I guess we need clarification/confirmation about this., eh?
