I had a chat with Asus about finding a replacement cord that was longer that 3ft. I asked if the Nexus 7 cord would work, he said Nope, I won't help you go here and buy. He gave me the asus link to their accessory catalog that carries more 3 ft cords.

I know NOTHING about what is needed. I think it's something about 10/18 W cord but I'm not sure. I go to Amazon and I could find nothing for the ME400. I go to Ebay and everything is from China and when I buy that stuff I only have a 50/50 chance of it working.

Can someone post a link or the information for me to search on so I can find a couple of 6 ft cords to charge my tablet and keyboard? I love my tablet but the cord is a PITA. Tech support is disappointing to say the least.

This should not be that hard.

Thank you so much,

Marlene

My me400 came with a wall plug and a detachable usb to micro usb cable. All I need to do is use a regular usb extention cord and all is good. Is yours the same?

No. I've tried a couple different cords I have tried them and the vivo doesn't charge. Is there a kind of cord I need to buy? I've got a drawer full of mini usb to usb cables.

Thanks

I know for a fact that the me400 will not charge unless it is at a low battery or standby. Have you updated windows and drivers (obvious question I know).

You could try one of the 6 ft cords from monoprice...theyre very good about returns if it doesnt work.

i would just buy an extension cord. a lot of times generic cords dont work properly even if in spec and theres a risk your ruin your battery/device

Hi

I love my Asus ME400 - but the lead and charging is a nightmare.
It will only charge properly for me with the branded charger and lead.

I have tried different leads with the stock charger and NONE of the work, I have tried different chargers (correct volts and amps and some with higher amps) with the stock lead and none of them work. I have tried an extension cord with the stock charger and stock lead and it does not charge.

I have finally found a lead that works with the stock charger - its only about 5 inches longer though, but it wont charge the tablet from a PC.

"USB Data Hot Sync Straight Cable designed for the Asus VivoTab ME400C with Charge Function - Two functions in one unique Gomadic TipExchange enabled cable"

I have a great 6ft lead that I cant use for the ME400, it will charge my phone, my headphones, just not the Vivo....really frustrating!!!

IF anyone has a clue please let us know.....
