I just got an Asus SK8V for a friend.Along with FX-53 cpu and PC-3200 512mbx2 muskin sticks.
The board wont boot.I am reading some reviews and I am confused. Some say I need registered memory.
Other sites say FX-53 cpu wont work.
Anyone here using this motherboard? Please post if you know about the memory and cpu specs.Asus's site has conflicting info too:(

All fx cpus require registered memory. Asus may list recommended brands at their website. I like mushkin, and have had good luck overclocking with it.

That memory will not work, it has to be registered/buffered
At NewEgg bring up the memory page that lets you choose options.
Here
Pick 184 DDR Dimm
and ECC yes

Type [184pin DDR DIMM] ECC [Yes]

There are 32 results that will all work with your system design.
I used the Corsair with tighter timings

Cool!
I hope that was the only problem.I was thinking the mobo was dead because system wouldn't boot.
