Hello,
I just ordered an ASUS SK8V with an AMD Athlon64 FX-51, a pair of Corsair TwinX (2 x 515 MB registered) RAM sticks and a Zalman CPNS7000A CU which will arrive here during next week.
Formerly using an Intel canterwood system, I now have several question building my new PC.
First: Is it better to use the build-in VIA S-ATA Raid-Controller of the VT8237 southbridge or shoud I prefer using the onboard Promise S-ATA Raid-Controller ? (I have a pair of WD Raptors...)
Second: What is the best stripe-size for a S-ATA RAID 0 array on VIA- or Promise-Controller ?
On my Intel-system with ICH5R southbridge I always set a stripe-size of 16k...
And last question: Will the Zalman CPNS7000A CU cooler fit on the ASUS SK8V without problems ?
Thanks in advance for every tip or answer !
