A SK8V for $220 !
And an Opteron for about $220 (1.4 GHz, but still.)
Then I realize ... oh. I guess Anandtech's review was for the FX51 CPU, with the SK8V.
Then I look at the ASUS website and ... it emphasizes the FX51, and MENTIONS the
Opteron - the Opteron 142.
Now I'm totally confused.
Will the wonderful ASUS SK8V work with the Opteron 24X series ?
I like the idea of getting the MB and CPU for $500 or $600. Don't really feel like
paying $1000 ... don't really feel the need for the FX51.
Willing to live with a "slow" supercomputer.
But it's such a beautiful machine !!!
For use with an Opteron 24X series CPU, will the SK8V work -- or do I get the SK8N ?
Thanks.
Roger
