Asus SK8V Bios settings

Current setup - 1 x seagate scsi 36.7gb via adaptec 21960N PCI card

Everything boots up fine and works like a dream. When i add a WD 200GB IDE HD , it seems to halt at BIOS for a good min , then it goes onto load windows and that takes minutes where without it it tooks seconds.

So far under Booting options i have - Boot 1 - 21960 - Scsi
Boot 2 - WD 2000gb...

Even when i disable boot 2 and leave the HD in , it doesn't make any difference. BIOS recognises BOTH HD's fine. and i have got the latest version of BIOS 1002.

Any idea's ??

Your WD drive has four jumper settings: Master, Slave, Cable Select and Single Drive. Set it to Single Drive and not to any of the other three, if it has its own data cable. That is done by simply taking the jumper cap off of the pins and leaving it off.

Hope that helps 🙂
