I flashed my bios from 1001 to 1002 and I am having issues. The only way I can boot up is to take the mobo battery out and clear the cmos. Then I can boot once to a screen that gives me a few warning messages and asks me if I want to load defaults to hit f2 and to load my own settings hit f1. Hitting f1 brings me to my bios and my temp is good and my cpu seems ok, but after I save settings and exit I just get a blank screen. It wont boot again unless I clear the cmos again. If I hit f2 before going into the bios I can get to a blank screen with a blinking cursor that doesnt let me type anything. I tried loading windows xp using the floppies at that point and it started the install process for a few seconds, but I then get a message of "file \biosinfo.inf could not be loaded. The error code is 4102." I've tried going back to the old bios, but that hasnt helped either. Have I hosed my motherboard?

What's the full specs of your system, including the brand/model/wattage of the power supply? Are you unplugging your system before clearing the CMOS? (yes = :), no = :()

Your board has the CrashProof BIOS 2 feature. The "file \biosinfo.inf could not be loaded" makes me suspect that the BIOS flash went wrong, and the mobo is trying to recover from it. Try the recovery routine shown in your manual or on the page I linked to (basically, put the mobo's CD-ROM in the drive and restart it), and cross your fingers :)

Well, using the cd didnt work. According to my manual you can use a floppy to recover from a crashed bios, so I followed the instructions and renamed the bios to sk8v.rom and flashed it again. Same result as before. I can boot once after clearing the cmos and thats it. I tried installing windows from the floppy again, but got the same message of "file \biosinfo.inf could not be loaded" I really dont understand why flashing it again with my old bios doesnt work? Does something get permenently corrupted where the bios is stored? I hate to buy another motherboard to solve this problem. Do I have any other cheaper options?

Thanks for your help.

Ugh, sounds like your board is Messed Up?. :( You could buy a new BIOS chip pre-programmed with the desired BIOS from http://www.badflash.com, I believe. A tool is needed also, to pull the old one out of the socket without harming the socket, and I'm guessing they sell that too.
