Asus Silent Knight installation: Clip stops fan from rotating

Finished installation of the following system last night:

ASUS P5N32-E SLI nVidia 860i
Intel Q6600 Quad
4 GB (4 x 1GB) Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800
2 eVGA 8600 GT video cards
4 Hitachi Deskstar 320 GB drives
ASUS Silent Knight cooler
Cooler Master Stacker 830 Evolution

The issue is simple: The Silent Knight is held into place with a retention clip that sits under the heatsink fins and fan combination.

When I turned on the system for the first time, I was greeted with the joyous sound of bearings squealing (the system did POST and let me go into BIOS, though!). I opened the case and saw the fan not moving.

I turned off the system after no more than 15 seconds and looked at the fan, tapping it with a letter opener and saw that it doesn't move.

Should I just remove and reseat? Is something more drastic required?

Thanks for any insight you can provide!

Jack
