i have a p2b-f. i can't get the serial ports to work. when i check the device manager it says this:

This device is no longer functioning properly and may need to be replaced. Contact the manufacturer of this device for assistance.

i'm not too sure. i was trying to get my palm to sync up to my machine. initially the modem had worked. now it doesn't. any suggestions? i took out my modem card. i figured maybe the serial port might work then.

i'm running on a w2k machine.

Make sure that the serial ports are enabled in the BIOS, and that you have Win2K Service Pack 1 installed.

If you still cannot get it to work, see if you can get a DOS boot disk and try to laplink with another system through the serial cable.

If that doesn't work, see if you can get a serail port card.....they don't cost that much, and you won't have to replace your motherboard.
