Asus Sabertooth 990fx Gen3 - RAID Option ROM vs AHCI RAID driver.

Im planning on installing Win8 on two SSD RAID 1. This board has two options for RAID. The old legacy option rom and the new AHCI RAID Driver option. I cant get Win8 to install with the second option. My SSDs are configured as GPT and windows refuses to install. I get an error that the bios may not support my disks.

Regular AHCI mode works fine on both drives. I tried diskpart to set the drives up manually and convert to gpt with offset of 1024kb. I assume this new RAID Driver mode works like software raid in windows? So i install windows on one drive and set up the raid in windows?
