ASUS RT-AC68U Network Drive Issues

I have just got this router and am having trouble mapping a network drive.

When I go to the network it doesn't show any drive being available but on the Asus GUI the drive is visible.

I am simply trying to create a wireless network without the use of internet for 4 machines and the USB network drive is critical to this and I can't seem to make it work.

Could someone please advise me on how to get this working as I have tried various methods and can't seem to make it work.

I am not that experienced in this so some simpler ideas may work

I am trying to make this work on windows 8.1 Pro

Any help would be greatly appreciated

What does network show?
What happens when you enter \\DRIVENAME into explorer? (DRIVENAME being the sharename you setup the drive in the router's interface)
