Has anyone tried this on a ROG STRIX B450-F like mine, with a Zen2 CPU installed? It was unclear to me from the release notes, whether this flash would render the mobo ONLY able to use Zen3 CPUs, and NOT Zen2, or BOTH Zen3 as well as Zen2?

Basically, I don't yet have a Zen3, but was wondering if possibly, there might be some updated features in the BIOS that might prove useful to a Zen2 CPU owner like myself. Or would I get "locked out of the mobo", until I put in a Zen3 CPU?

ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING BIOS 4001
1. Update AMD AM4 AGESA V2 PI 1.1.8.0 for new CPU support
2. It’s highly recommended not to update this beta BIOS when using AMD AM4 Socket for AMD Ryzen™ 3000 Series/ 2000 Series/ 1000 Series/ A-Series Desktop Processors.
3. This beta BIOS can’t be reversed.

YES! It still works with a Zen2 CPU! Booted Windows, tweaked XMP (DOCP), set FCLK to 1800, disabled Fast Boot, Disabled CSM boot, checked boot order was correct, good to go.

Will update if I get appcrashes or DRAM issues. (Running 4x8GB DDR4-3600 Trident RGB "for AMD".)

I would expect it to work, there'll have to be some backward compatibility in the AGESA. Though I wonder what "highly recommended not to update" covers? Have you double checked performance all-round yet?

Might BR/Zen1/1+ compatibility have been cut...? It would be nice to have at least some official info on what's going on. Just to make sure there isn't some nasty hidden surprise in there.

Appreciate it.
