Asus ROG Gamefirst...is it worth having?

My initial reaction would be skepticism. No matter what this thing does it can't have much effect on all the hops outside your local network. But on the other hand I'm an Asus fan, so I'm willing to keep an open mind for a bit.

Well I can understand giving priorities but i'm sure most gamer's do not have anything else really doing much on the internet while gaming. That's why I wonder. I got a gaming router a couple years ago and noticed nothing though I have no idea how it can tell what is a game or isn't unless I missed some software or something. But I wouldn't know if my gaming ability in MP games is hindered or not as i'm not really sure how to tell if i'm lagging or anything like that.

Even if you do have other activity going on, most people with broadband have 20+ mbps available, and games don't require anything like that. I'd be surprised if any of them go above about 128 kbps sustained. Latency is much more important, and it's almost always more affected by the hops outside your network than by anything inside.

I have a 24mbps connection and never felt any lag while playing CS:GO on steam. IMO, there is no need for packet prioritizing, when only <10% bandwidth is being used while online playing.

Thanks, I won't bother with it then.

BTW is there any tweaks here on my router that would give me better wireless results? I listen to internet radio via a smartphone but when i'm downstairs the connection drops all the time. Router is upstairs and has 3 antenna's.

Here is pic of settings
