Hi all,

I'm currently looking at moving away from my desktop and to a powerful laptop. My current desktop is getting a little long in the tooth and to be honest I'm more keen on a laptop now than a desktop.

The upcoming ASUS ROG G752VT seems to fit the bill. It will cover my VM workloads with up to 64GB of RAM, Quad Core CPU and a decent 970M GPU as well as room for a 2.5" and M.2 PCIe disks. However it seems like it only has a HDMI as the only display output which means my current Dell U2711 with a resolution of 2560x1440 will be capped at 1920x1080 :(.

I noticed that it has a USB-3.1C which is also a Thunderbolt port, but I'm not sure if it can send a display signal like on the Macbooks. I've also heard that HDMI can also send resolutions up to 2560x1440, but I'm not too keen just relying on roumours.

So i guess the question is would this Laptop be able to output a 2560x1440 signal to the Dell U2711, because if it can't then it's a no go.

Hoping for some help on the matter.

Thanks.

Well, the GTX970M supports it, but Asus might not have it on the laptop.
The pics at Newegg don't seem to show DP.
Should do HDMI 2 though.
