Impressive..

A lot of people were poo-pooing Asus for not being proactive when this first broke..

Any other MOBO makers have an RMA process like this up and running yet ?

P.S.
With Intel paying the bill, this is the way it should work; no questions asked, no hassle ..

MSI had their RMA site up a few days ago, still waiting for Gigabyte to do the same.

I just saw this on Anand's main page. Registered my board for replacement, I'm glad they're offering to ship the replacement board first with a credit card on record.

I don't know if I should replace with the retailer or ASUS.. Should I wait or fill out that form now?

Same here. I bought mine from MC and received an email stating they would handle the return and notify when the new board comes in. That is a lot more convenient for me since it is close by and I dont have to worry about shipping anything back. I'm going to hold off with the Asus RMA site and go the MC route.

Yeah, bought the combo from MC also. I have received that email too, but not sure how fast they gonna get the it. I suppose it's gonna be a brand new exchange, so I am holding off also.

I will also be visiting MC when the boards are in. Plus, I will buy another board on the spot to use as a second machine. Then again maybe I should wait for Ivy Bridge to build the second machine.

I'm having difficulties finding the appropriate form or announcement on their German site. Anyone able to assist with this? Or, is this (for now) a "North American Customers Only" thing?

You also have the option to return for full refund. I received this in an email:

At this time, we do not have any replacement systems or motherboards to exchange (may take 8 weeks). You may keep the unit until we obtain a replacement. We will accept returns if you do not want to wait. If you purchased a board/processor bundle, you must return the complete bundle to receive a refund.

suprisingly, the contact rep on the free phone line was ready to take my info right there, no form. But I didnt have the ser. And he was in U.S. (Cal.?) and very friendly/sharp

Its kinda funny, there is no sw that can pick up the serial - its strictly sticker stuff. Since the boards wont be out till MAY, I'll worry about it later

I hope they will let up trade up to Z68 if it's out by then.

Is this right?

FAQ2.jpg

Sabertooth P67 and Maximus IV Extreme:
Black – SATA 3Gb/s on Cougar Point Controller (SATA3G_3 – SATA3G_6)
Beige – SATA 6Gb/s on Cougar Point Controller (SATA6G_1 / SATA6G_2)
Grey – SATA 6Gb/s on Marvell Controller (SATA3G_3 – SATA3G_6)
Red – SATA 6Gb/s on Cougar Point (Left 2 - (SATA6G_1 / SATA6G_2) and Marvell Controller (Right 2)

I believe the gray are 3.0 as well arent they???

I believe the ratio is (4) 3.0 to (4) 6.0 Sata Ports...
