I have a potential bargain on an Asus Rampage Extreme and I was looking at some of these:
OCZ DDR3 1600

Are these a good combo? I'm particularly looking to solve these problems with the P5K:

-dual restarting/dead boot issue
-incorrect PCI-E reporting resulting in graphics handicap
-dreadful placement and dearth of SATA plugs

Thoughts?

I use Rampage Formula, the design should be about the same.. As for dual-restarting, I assume when you turn it on, it shuts down, turns on again? If so, that happens on my Rampage formula as well. The SATA plugs is definitely better placed, and doesn't block graphic cards. I never had a incorrect PCI-E reporting with my P5K Deluxe, so I have no idea what you're talking about :)

cool. i just hope they fix the booting issue. it's actually better described as always booting with an "overclock failed" report and you have to f1 - esc - discard changes and it finishes booting fine, but that's like every time.

hmm. I definitely don't have an overclocked failed every time. I sometimes push the button, then push it again by mistake since it seems to start up slow, causing the computer to start -> shutdown -> start. So the BIOS thinks that overclock fails.
