Hi everyone, I have an issue which has been a mystery for me to solve for a while now.
Ill first start off by linking a post which gives extensive background as to what the issue was before.
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answe...display-black-screen-issue.html#xtor=EPR-8812
Specs:
POWERSUPPLY: SilverStone Strider Plus 1000W S
OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Ultimate
MOTHERBOARD GIGABYTE X58A-UD7
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz
HARD DRIVE: Western Digital Caviar Black
GRAPHICS CARD Asus Radeon R7 260X DirectCU II OC
SSD PRIMARY: Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB
SSD SECONDARY: OCZ VERTEX 80GB
MONITOR: Acer K222HQL 21.5in Widescreen LCD
To summarize the link above the issue basically was I installed a new graphics card and it didn't like me updating the graphics card software. It lead to when windows would boot it would freeze and a black screen would appear instead of the windows logo and nothing would happen from there. If it did by some miracle load and I logged on 20 seconds later my mouse and whole computer would freeze and a black screen would appear.
Anyway the issue was finally fixed when a few weeks after the forum in the link above was created around December of last year. I solved it when a new version of AMD'S driver was released. I booted windows in safe mode uninstalled the old drivers and used a driver wiper. Rebooted windows and the new driver somehow worked and I received no more startup black screens and no issues .
But ever since that update its being doing something odd, whenever I boot windows the Windows 8 loading progress bar appears, I hear a small sound out of my headphones and the screen cuts to black. However if you than reboot it, it boots successfully and everything works like nothing ever happened. But when I an finished on my pc or have to restart it the same black screen appears and I have to reboot it again and it works. So basically if have to reboot it two times when ever I turn on my pc and/or if I ever have to restart it. Sometimes by some miracle it boots up without the black screen first go.
Anyway I looked on numerous forums and couldn't find a solution to my problem. I know the R7 series have had many issues. I tried all the basic things, making sure its firmly in the pci slot, switching pci slots, cleaning out the dust, switching from DVI to HDMI nothing seems to fix the issue. I have dealt with it by simply rebooting it twice every time however now its starting to annoy me. Besides it being annoying its effecting my computer, on rare occasions my computer randomly freezes and I have to restart, or if I leave it idle for a while when its scanning and the screen blackens it freezes and I have to restart. Oddly enough in game my FPS is stable so I think its only effecting my monitor when windows boots, or maybe its effecting my operating system. However issues only arise when I am booting, rebooting or leave my computer idle. I know the issue is with the graphics card because it only started when I upgraded it to this one.
I seriously apologize for how long this post is, I like stating as much info as possible. I appreciate any advice and hopefully someone can help, thanks!
EDIT: I just realized when ever the sound appears and the screen goes black upon the first boot the keyboard and mouse aren't powering on with the rest of the computer. I know that means it my be an issue with the power supply or mother board. However the fans and led's in the case still work when my keyboard and mouse fails leading me to believe that the power supply is not the issue? It could be the motherboard but again all the other components connected to the motherboard works and a reboot fixes the issue. I also stated above that the issue only started with the new card, the issue is still a mystery to me. But another issue is that in the past few days my ping has been horrible, I thought the wireless card I have installed was dying since after 5 minutes of booting the computer my internet would suddenly cut of and no connections for my wifi would show, in device manager my wireless card would show however it wouldnt allow me to trouble shoot or alter any settings with the card. When the internet cuts out my explorer.exe freezes/stops responding so I cant use the start menu, than my mouse freezes and if I move it 15 seconds later it moves the cursor, chrome also crashes/freezes alot which leads to the whole explorer.exe freezing.
