ASUS Q-fan feature a plus or minus?

For those of you who have Asus boards (P4T533 or P4S533), does the Q-fan technology actually result in a more quiet system? or do you hear a lot of starting and stopping of the fan that may be annoying?

How about those of you who do not have ASUS boards but are familiar with the technology - does it really work well and should it be a deciding factor in putting together a system that is less noisy?
 
For me it did not make much difference. I use the retail heatsink/fan and I didn't not notice it getting any quieter. The high pitch whine of my hard drive seems to drown everythin else out.
 

Great, thanks for the input. I'm leaning toward the P4T533-C which does not have the Q-fan feature.
