Please help me determine if My Asus PX58D-Premium motherboards North Bridge is to hot. I had an Intel Stock CPU fan for my i7 950 on but recently installed a new Corsair H60 cooler and the Northbridge is SO much hotter to the touch (it was Hot before and I still wondered) I also changed it to a push pull configuration to try and make inside of case cooler (which help somewhat) But the North bridge is still hot to the touch is this normal? I can't put a fan on the heat sink because of it's awkward shape and I can't remove Asus's heatsink because it's connected to the South Bridge all the way up to the left side of the cpu. also there's no program that specifically says Northbridge Temps. Any advice would be greatly appreciated,Thank you in advance

P.S. Asus tech support is the worst nightmare I had ever got. they hunged up on me on three occasions after waiting over 30 minutes and are very rude. Finally the said I qualify for an advance replacement but they would have to put the price of the motherboard on hold in my credit card!!!! Guess what I don't have over $200 available on my credit card!!!!!

what case do you have and what is the air circulation like? you may be able to jury rig a fan over northbridge it get air blowing on it.

Corsair 600T only 3 fans, 2 200mm fans and 1 120mm fan / 1 200 mm on bottom front of Tower blowing air in and one on top blowing air out then one 120mm fan blowing air out through upper back. PSU is on bottom no air coming in case. I also have a Nvidia GTX 460. The case has mesh screens. Thank you. Oh and what do you mean when you say Jury Rig?

you must install 80x80x25 fan blowing onto northbridge heatsink or you will damage northbridge chip --- the vrm's at (2) edges of cpu socket MUST have directed air flow or there will be thermal issues, especially when you o.c.

x58 northbridge is known to have higher operating temps

water cooling is great, but will not provide required air flow unless you add supplemental fan(s) --- 120x120x25/38 can also be used at lower rpm (formed alum or sheet steel or wire frame mounting...

Ghetto??? Ok can you please speak more clearly.

Basically modding/adapting using what is available around you, wire, cardboard, glue, double sided tape and so forth, usually as cheaply as possible.
