asus probe vs. cpuz

just full of problematic questions today :-D

anyway, when i keep asusprobe running, all is well. i'm somewhat worried about my power output w/the following:
vantec tornado 92mm and 80mm, both clocked halfway or down
athlon xp @ 1.75v
a dvd+rw drive, two hard drives, 3 80mm fans, 1 40mm fan, an agp 8x vid card (1.5v), an audigy2zs sound card, a pci slot cooler.

psu = antec trupower 480w

anyway it all reads well. everything spins up/down (fan controls), voltages are stable and within good range of what they should be.

but when i start up CPUZ, the stuff goes crazy in both apps. even if i close both and reopen probe, its reading 1000rpm from fans, crazy voltage fluctuations but i don't hear/feel anything different from the fans, and the temperatures are fine. sometimes restarting asus probe in this condition gives me some crazy temperature readings which fix when closing/restarting again. i reboot and all is normal again... o_O

is it software problem or is something really messed up with my system and should i go buy a 500w PSU (this one glows blue to match the other fans so i'm reluctant, i can't find another antec trublue/trupower 500w)

Use another program like Everest or Motherboard Monitor. Don't use ASUSProbe, it constantly underreports by 5-6 Celsius. If starting CPU-Z just causes a software error, I can't see a reason to replace a perfectly good PSU. Exhaust your software options first.

Get rid of AsusProbe and use MBM5 or some other program instead. I've only heard bad things about AsusProbe (such as it causing problems similar to that). If MBM5 doesnt' support your board, I bet you can find an easy hack that'll get it to work on your board. I found one for my board (A DFI nF4 Ultra-d) and everything is working great.

i tried everest. this program rocks, too bad its trial. the temperature/fanspeed/voltages match asusprobe (except when it spazzes out).
