i've been monitoring temps closely on my A7N8X-deluxe and have been wondering whether they are even remotely accurate... i have an athlon xp-m 2200+ (oc'd to 1.9 ghz, 166 fsb and 11.5 mulitplier if it helps). i have a zalman 7000b alcu and ceramique thermal compound. the ambient temp of my room is around 60-70F

given my hardware, it doesnt make sense to me why asus probe is reporting 50C idle and 56C load. (ive already tried mbm 5 and it gets the same results)

could someone tell me if i should trust asus probe or is there any other way to find correct temps BESIDES buying thermal monitoring hardware?

I have a MSI motherboard with a Athlon 1800+ except with an Arctic Cool heatsink & fan and according to their/MSI software (unfortunately I can not use PC-Probe, of course), my temperatures are just about in the very same range as yours.

What does the temperature in the BIOS say ??

Sounds like to me you are about right.

If it runs and does not lockup under heavy load, let er rip.
