Asus probe MB temperature

What is the MB temperature reading on AsusProbeII reporting? The North Bridge?

At the default setting for the program, the MB temperature is overspec. I'm showing
a constant 52C for this temp once warmed up. This seems a bit high.

I installed an HR-01-775 heatsink with the duct for "passive cooling", but the system
became more unstable. (I had to remove the two little fans that go on the chipset
heatpipe setup, but the manual says to remove them with active cooling anyway, because
they block flow.

Today, I took out the duct, and attached a 12cm fan directly to the heatsink. My CPU temps have dropped, but the MB measurement is still showing 52C. Is this a dangerous
temp for this?

Update: I opened the box up to check how the chipset heatpipe/sink was fastened
to the board. to investigate removing and refastening it using arctic silver, and I noticed that the one chipset fan I had reinstalled wasn't seated right. I reseated it and now I seem to be running steady at 41C, an 11C drop. That seems a little better.
