Looking for a monitor that will be nice for general productivity tasks as well as some photo editing (lightroom+gimp) and gaming (mainly FPS).

Out of the two monitors, which would you choose?

PA248Q
+24"
-$290 AR
+1920x1200
+USB 3.0 hub
-Color temperature uniformity (?)

U2312HM
-23"
+$190
-1920x1080
-USB 2.0 hub
+Lower input lag/pixel response (?)

Tough nut to crack. If anyone has input on either monitor I'd really appreciate it. I'm not ballin' so $100 is somewhat significant, but I think I'd enjoy the extra 120 vertical pixels.

I have the PA248Q. I made some minor adjustments when I first got it to the color temp and now I'm happy with it. More than anything it was way too bright out of the box. I am pretty picky about color temp. My only minor compliant is that it isn't quite as good when you look down at it as a normal IPS monitor. I only really notice that when as I'm sitting down to work on it though. So unless you have people standing behind you that need to see the screen perfectly that shouldn't be a concern. Side-to-side off axis viewing is fine.

Shouldn't you be comparing the U2412M to the 24" Asus?

U2412M is everything that the PA248Q is, except it doesn't have 4xUSB 3.0. Don't know why I'd consider it. Wanted the PA248Q, but the nice price on the U2312HM is tempting.
