Thoughts on this board VS the Rampage series? The Rampage ones seem over-priced... is there value there I am not seeing? Thoughts on this board vs the other x79 options out there?

This is the board I bought for my 3820 - it seemed about the right price compared to the alternatives. Worked perfectly the first time I applied power and has everything I need.

just make sure you have the latest BIOS with this board... i've had this board since it's release.. was buggy, would BSOD every couple of days, also have three 7970 gpus and 3930k... but with the latest bios it's been rocksolid... SSD caching didn't work to will for me and so i'm just running the OS off a M4 256gb ssd.

don't know much about the rampage though. hope this helps.

Great, thanks guys! So it's not worth it going to the Sabertooth?

The Sabertooth series carries a 5 year warranty which is nice. Whether the "TUF" components are necessarily better, I don't know.

I have the Sabertooth X58 and it has been a solid board for the most part for the 2.5 years it's been running. I had to increase the voltage on my i7 950 to maintain a 4 GHz clock a few months back but I'm not sure if it's due to degradation of the CPU or motherboard.
