Asus P9X79 odd audio problem

I recently bought the P9X79 LE, and am having some sound issues with it. I have a pair of studio monitors (speakers) as my sound device. There is a constant static / digital glitch sound emanating from the right channel.

I am using the analogue jack on the back of the case. If I use the digital out on the front of my case, it is even worse. What is very odd about this problem is that if I kill the audio driver, the static / glitchy sound is STILL there.

To make matters stranger, If I use a pair of headphones and disconnect the speakers, there are no problems whatsoever. I also have a Native Instruments external soundcard (Traktor Audio 2) which I installed and ran my speakers through. This card is USB, and STILL there was the static / digital glitchyness. How is that possible, as I am bypassing the internal sound card altogether? I disconnected the Native Instruments card after this proved fruitless.

Realtek audio driver is the only driver enabled.
Nvidia HD driver disabled.

Realtek set as default.

Please help, this is very annoying.

IT seems that if you are using a different sound card, the usb one that pretty much eliminates the computer.

Are you able to hook up the speakers to a phone and play some sound through that and see if the same thing happens. If so there could be an issue with the speakers and/or speaker wires.

Yes, that was my first thought, so I hooked the speakers up to my laptop and played some tunes, no problems.

As did my headphones when plugged in, the buzz went away. It was a bad jack. Disconnect the front jack & see..

Well, no luck. I disconnected the 10-pin front panel audio connection to the motherboard, and still have the static / digital tone going on through speakers only.
