I'm trying to install the drivers for LucidLogix Virtu MVP, both the ones from the bundle and the latest ones from the company's webpage. Both return a strange error, saying "Integrated graphics not found - Virtu MVP cannot be installed".

What the heck's up, I got an integrated gpu in the CPU, the mobo can and does run it properly (checked) - what's the issue now?

I enabled the Multi-GPU switch in BIOS. The GPU choice is set on auto. I tried installing with the iGPU set as the preferred and still did not help. The iGPU is giving me video, obviously, while the LucidVirtu MVP driver says it's not there.

Some threads suggested installing Intel HD Graphics drivers first. Nope, those also say the system does not conform to minimum requirements.

Remove your videocard. Connect monitor to igp output. Install Intel drivers. Plug videocard back in and connect monitor. Install videocard drivers. Set the bios Virtu setting to enabled. Install Virtu software. That's how I did it.

Don't use the mode where you connect monitor to igp and the videocard is only used for games. It increases power draw significantly (despite 'green' virtu claim).

Plug monitor into iGPU. Set preferred card to iGPU in BIOS and put multi-GPU mode on. IYou will need to install the Intel drivers from the ASUS website, not from Intel. Install your dedicated card. Then install the latest Virtu software from their official site. Switch preferred mode to iGPU or PEG depending on preference and connect your cable accordingly.

Actually, with Auto GPU selection and MultiGPU enable previously, just installing the ASUS copy of the drivers + hotfix (IDIOCY! WHO HAD THE IDEA OF MAKING THEM DIFFERENT AND NOT MARKING THAT! :E) helped.

After that Virtu installed properly and now works fine. >.>

It must be like some laptop integrated graphics. The sometimes only work with the video driver available for download on their site. The downside is they have no motivation to offer updates that fix bugs or increase performance with future game titles.

Hey guys, I'm also having the same issue here ( I have the Asus P8z77-v lk). I tried to uninstall my dedicated GPU and remove it from the MB and connect my HDMI to the MB output but my PC won't boot. It would just keep restarting over and over again. Any suggestions? Thanks

You need to enable the IGPU in the bios. Auto option disables it when you have a dedicated video card. Atleast it does that on my board. I have to set the BIOS to enable.

There are several issues involved
This situation of installing the IGPU drivers is much more complicated than it should be
I have built hundreds of SB IB boards and it hasnt become a pain until the Z77 chipset for some reason.

First of all you will have to remove the vidcard totally and make a VGA to VGA connection from onboard to monitor. HDMI wont work.

Remember you are now booting into a system that has NO video drivers for connected video, but still has AMD/Nvidia drivers and CONTROL PANEL loaded. If you remove the drivers in Dev Man, Win 7 will just throw them right back in upon reboot.

You must have IGFX as primary boot, 1024M cache and multi monitor disabled in bios. Multi is just for In Virtu

If you have more than one monitor (or ever had) and they were set up in Win 7 display then your default monitor has now changed with cable change of port usage. When vidcard still in you have to redetect your monitor and make sure you have only 1 monitor (#1). Similarly hot plugging a vid cable may wreck your monitor association in Win 7. Also you must not have refresh set higher than 60Hz

Now the prob is to eliminate the possibility of AMD/Nvidia drivers getting in the way. You can right click disable (temporarily) your display adapter in Dev Man. If that doesnt work you can try F8 safe mode during boot in addition to the disable.

This issue has two phases.
>Cant boot to any video, black screen
>Boot to Win 7 but driver install error - not proper

A last gasp surefire fix is a reinstall of Win 7 with onboard cable vga to vga monitor port and IGFX set in bios. Everything works right off. As a matter of fact I now always install Win 7 in IGFX mode, in RAID mode and GPT for all drives

RAID mode means AHCI if you dont actually set up a volume and you can go RAID anytime you want
IGFX means easy install of graphics drivers and change to vidcard is no prob
GPT is a much stronger format that is big drive friendly and has RAID metadata at beginning and end of drive

I just built two more Z77 V Pros and this is what happened:
With vidcard in set resolution to 1280 60Hz
Right click disable Display adapter (AMD) in Dev Man
Redetect monitor #1 (only one hooked up)
Uninstalled AMD Catalyst install Manager in programs features (optional)
Shutdown - reboot, should be in basic mode
Shutdown
Removed vidcard (AMD)
VGA single link cable onboard to VGA port monitor
BIOS: IGPU primary 1024M Cache no multi mon in graphics config
Boot to Win 7 - takes a while (10 seconds) for monitor to show something while its sorting things out
Get message: Catalyst control center drivers not workable for this config, change drivers to proper (if you didnt uninstall them)
O.K.
Load Intel drivers from ASUS product site (setup.exe)
shutdown, reboot - check drivers
shutdown, Install vidcard with DVI dual link cable
Reboot to bios set AUTO primary display
Boot to dev man re-enable AMD card
Shut down, reboot
Boots to my first monitor AMD PCIe DVI with vga to second monitor still connected and second monitor shows wallpaper and first shows Win 7 desktop at same time
The default system is that which you made during Win 7 install, in my case AMD
Switching to PCIe primary only AMD/first monitor shows

Note that there are two very different states:
No Intel graphics drivers
Intel graphics drivers installed

Setting up IGPU is now rocket science
