Asus P8Z68-V Pro HUGE PROBLEMS

Has anyone been able to update their bios to the most recent 0706? Here is the download link. http://support.asus.com/download.as... PRO&p=1&s=39&os=30&hashedid=JjlGHLJGJPFfGCFA

It is impossible to download and I can not figure out how to update my bios, i have been stuck with the 0501 bios that was released in may. The 0706 was just released and this is seemingly impossible unless you are some sort of genius. Please help a newb out!

The title to the thread sounds like you are reporting problems with the motherboard itself. A bit misleading, just my 2 cents. Are you actually having trouble with the motherboard?


I can download the BIOS updates fine, for what its worth.

Like most new MBs, Asus has an EZ Flash utility that you can flash your bios from within your bios using a flash drive.
Expand the Bios files by clicking on the +, download the file
Unzip the P8Z68-V-PRO-ASUS-0706.zip file
Copy the P8Z68-V-PRO-ASUS-0706.ROM file to a flash drive
Go to section 3.10.2, page 3-35, in your manual and follow the directions.

Just did it in about one minute.

One click to download. Extracted the P8Z68-V-PRO-ASUS-0706.ROM file into it's own folder then from within Win7 ran Asus Update from AI Suite II and flashed. Reboot, set Bios settings back and I'm back-up and running.

Quick and simple.

Zero problems here with the bios update. Maybe the caps in the title are a bit much?

Install the "Asus AI Suite" from the MB software CD or download it from Asus. Click the update tab, and update the bios from there.
